Publication time, update time, and retrieval dates belong in public HTML, not only in JSON-LD.
Machines and readers should see the same clock. Sample stamps in this repository are labeled and must be replaced.

Texas Park will show when a story first shipped and when it last changed. This sample article does not backdate a real event in Texas.
The article route already exposes published and updated dates in the byline and in NewsArticle JSON-LD. The homepage latest rail reuses those sample stamps so the layout can be judged before the hub is live.
Retrieval dates on /data pages are a different clock: when the desk fetched a source, not when a government published it. Do not mix the two.
If a correction lands, log it on the corrections page and update the article timestamp. Silent edits of facts are not allowed.

Do these timestamps mark a real news event?
No. They are sample datetimes in the template so layout and JSON-LD can be tested.
Where are corrections logged?
On the public corrections page, not in a silent overwrite.
